The city beaches and hillside spots can be seen flocked with friends and families having a great time during springtime in Hong Kong. With low heat and humidity supporting your intentions, you too can plan a day out in Hong Kong. Here is a list of the best picnic spots for you to go to.

    1. Victoria Peak Garden: The beautiful green lawns with the winding paths make for a perfect family playground. You can enjoy strolling along and marvel at the giant wok-shaped Peak Galleria on your way up to the Victoria Peak Gardens.

      How to get there:
      Take bus 15 from Central Ferry Station to The Peak and then walk for 15 to 20 minutes up to the Mount Austin Road.

    1. Inspiration Lake: A magical place with its convoluted paths, shaded lakeside pagodas and backdrop of Lantau’s peaks, the Inspiration Lake is truly an amazing place to have cozy family time together.

      How to get there: Take a 15-minute walk from Disneyland Resort MTR station.

    1. Turtle Cove: A secluded beach with a lot of space for everyone, Turtle Cove will keep you away from the crowd in a tree-lined bay tucked below the main road near Redhill.

      Take a bus from Sai Wan Ho MTR Station. Get off just after Tai Tam Reservoir and look for steep steps.

    1. Bride’s Pool: The drowning bride doesn’t make for the happiest back story. But it is a great place to relax with your family, take a refreshing dip and a stroll along the nature trail.

      How to get there:
      Go to Tai Po MTR Station, exit A3 and take the bus 275R to the start trail.

    1. Victoria Park: With swings, trees and a boat pond with diesel-powered racing boats, Victoria Park is the perfect place for you to go to keep your child distracted and happy all the time.

      How to get there:
      Take MTR to Causeway Bay. Go past SOGO and Ikea. Victoria Park is just across the road from Park Lane Hotel. Or take Tin Hau MTR and take any exit to the Park.

    1. Cyberport Waterfront Park: This enormous park is open to everyone who’s looking for some time away from all their “routine”. With Recharge Café on the Podium level, you can juice out all your stress for picnic planning because they provide a hamper filled with classified cookies and a picnic rug.

      How to get there:
      You can easily reach this park in a car, bus, taxi. It is located behind Cyberport.

      1. Clearwater Bay Country Park: Blessed with views of emerald sea, sprawling greens and gentle breeze good enough to go kite flying, this park has plenty of amenities for leisure walk and barbecue.

        How to get there:
        Take minibus 103M from Tseung Kwan O MTR station.

    1. Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Park: This Park offers an amazing harbor view with grassy lawns, basketball courts, and playgrounds. You and your children can have a lot of fun here.

      How to get there:
      MTR to Sheung Wan, Exit D, walk towards the water.

    1. Grass Island: Located in the northeastern corner of Sai Kung, Grass Island (also known as Tap Mun) is the perfect place to explore the abandoned school and Tap Mun Cave while you set up a resting spot on the beautiful hilltops.

      How to get there:
      Get the 94 or 96R bus to Wong Shek Pier (96R operates on weekends only) and take the ferry to Tap Mun. Return trips until 6 pm.

    1. Tai Po Waterfront Park: If you are looking for a more rustic waterfront spot then this is the best choice for you. With a lookout tower, insect house and an endless expanse of grass you can relax away from all the rush of the civic.

      How to get there:
      MTR to Tai Po Market then take a taxi.

    1. Mount Davis: With former army barracks and artillery depot Mount Davis is the perfect place for your little kids to create a battlefield of their own. There is also a pleasant grassy sport for you to lay the rug.

      : Drive up the curving road to the top of Mount Davis between Kennedy Town and Pokfulam.
